Introduction
Vino Bambino distribute avant-garde wine brands with profound flavour spectrums and interesting characters ideal for Melbourne's food and wine culture. The focus is with restaurants, cafes and key independent retailers. All of our wines are sourced from recognised wine regions that best reflect each variety and each tells a unique story.

Being exposed to wine from a young age, Mark Singarella's Italian born father, Salvatore who migrated here in the 1950's, has always made wine annually along with the traditions of tomato sauce, sausages and olives with his wife, Maria. Each year the Singarella family would enjoy their homemade goods around the table and it was there that Mark's passion and desire grew. Mark's uncle, Joe further exposed him to premium wine as he was a leading manufacturer of the "screw cap" that has revolutionised the industry.
He has teamed up with PR & Communications Director and wife, Michelle Singarella, who holds a Bachelor of Arts in Professional Writing and Communications. Michelle manages the PR & events, along with their website. She has developed websites for Cafe Terroni and Esca Grill in conjunction with Nicole Loo from Creative Cats and established sound relationships with key target food & wine media and partners including Ted Baker London. Prior to this Michelle worked in corporate communications at Telstra for seven years and then set up her on consulting business Mitchcomms, where she handled PR for The French Quater Patisserie and Charles & Calypso. She also project managed the development of the Diabetes Australia Victoria website and online shop for 18 months.
After spending eight years in the corporate world, a three-day long weekend to the Barossa Valley ignited the passion of wine within new Area Sales Manager, Sheona Gregg. Wanting to learn more about the wine industry, Sheona has worked for Lerida Estate Winery in the Canberra District and has also completed a year-long Sommelier Course, honing her knowledge of Australian wines and producers.

Biondi is the producer located at Trecastagni on the south eastern side of Mount Etna. Altitude is between 600–900 M. Bush trained indigenous varieties and vineyard has been in the Biondi family for six generations. Average age of the vines are 50 – 60 years and the gradient of the land can be as much as 50%. Total hectares under vine are 14. Sandy black (terra nera) volcanic soil. The wines have been awarded tre bicchieri by the Gambero Rosso several times. The Outis Bianco Etna D.O.C which is a 2008 and is 90% Carricante with a little Minnella and Moscatello. 12.5% alcohol. Cape Bernier Vineyard was established by Alastair Christie and his family in 1998 and is located at Bream Creek on Tasmania's south east coast overlooking historic Marion Bay - an ideal location for producing their award winning cool climate Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris wines. Winemaker, Julian Alcorso and his colleagues at Winemaking Tasmania Pty Ltd have produced wines of the highest quality, clear varietal expression together with the unique characters of the terroir of this unique site. Cape Bernier recently received a five star rating by James Halliday in the Australian Wine Companion 2010. Simon and Kaye Clayfield grow Shiraz and small quantities of Merlot and Durif vines. Their Moyston winery and vineyard is located near the spectacular Grampians Ranges, since 1999 they have produced limited quantities of classical Western Victorian red wine. Additional Shiraz grapes which are grown high up on nearby Mt. Ararat are blended to produce a modern classic regional style wine marketed as ‘Clayfield Grampians Shiraz'.The range of Clayfield Shiraz wines includes ‘Clayfield Massif Shiraz' and ‘Thomas Wills Shiraz'. DogRock is located in the hills behind the tiny settlement of Crowlands, Western Victoria and is home to winemaker, Allen and Viticulturalist, Andrea Hart. Their winery and vineyards are part of the Pyrenees wine growing region and are nestled onto either side of a horse-shoe valley with individual macroclimates, surrounded by a high ridge to the north and open slopes to the south. Elevation is from 300 to 400 metres above sea level and this provides cool nights, relative frost free springs and sunny dry autumns: perfect for the creation of elegant Shiraz, Tempranillo and Riesling. The climate is very similar to the Rioja region of Spain and the Southern Rhone Valley of France, which produce some of the finest wines in the world. Allen and Andrea's intention is to make innovative and interesting wines that are elegant, have balance and flavour but will still reward some modest time in the cellar. DogRock recently received a four and half star rating by James Halliday in the Australian Wine Companion 2010. Lerida Estate is the vision of owners, Jim Lumbers and Anne Caine. Their vineyard produce world class wines predominantly Pinot Noir reflecting the Lake George ‘terroir’ in the Canberra district and are now recognised as being among the most stylish not only in the Canberra District but in Australia. They were also awarded 5-stars in 2010 in the 2011 edition of the Halliday Wine Companion. Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Master of Wine and Robert Parker’s (The Wine Advocate) Asia/Pacific representative based in Singapore stated in The Wine Advocate: “If you've never tried wines from the Canberra District ... in the southern part of NSW around the city of Canberra, you are truly missing out on some of the most exciting new wines coming out of Australia today.” Morning Sun is nestled in the picturesque, rolling hills of Main Ridge located in the Mornington Peninsula’s hinterland region. The vineyards look east over a small valley towards the morning sun and with a total of 13.5 acres under vine, this boutique vineyard produces award winning Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio with small plantings of Gwertztraminer (a favourite of Claudia Mario’s wife), Semillon, Riesling and Barbera. In early 2011, the decision was made to pursue organic certification. Mount Cathedral Vineyards was established in 1995 on the northern slopes of the breathtaking Cathedral Ranges situated just to the north of the Great Dividing Range in central Victoria. It is rated 4.5 stars by James Halliday in his 2009 Australian Wine Companion. The philosophy behind the establishment of Mount Cathedral Vineyards is the production of high quality fruit in order to produce wines of character. Their vines are hand pruned, and trained to a vertical shoot position trellis system. No pesticides are used and they do not use any systemic chemicals. At harvest the fruit is hand picked into small picking baskets and immediately processed in the winery by winemaker and owners Oscar Rosa and Nick Arena. Mount Towrong sits 600 metres above sea level with direct views of Mount Macedon and produces the cool climate varietals of Chardonnay, Nebbiolo, Prosecco and a Rosso - which is a blend of both Nebbiolo and the noble Pinot Noir grape variety. The Cremasco family began planting the first of three stages of their vineyard in 1996 and this picturesque, five acre terraced vineyard allows for optimal growth conditions and its low yield provides high quality grapes. All grapes are hand picked and the vines are hand pruned via cane pruning. Winemaker David Cowburn and his staff look after the fermentation and wine making process, and all wine is matured in new and old French oak. George and Deirdre Cremasco live on site and continue to pour their heart and soul into this picturesque Estate. Plan B! the new dawn of vinous goodness and light; and more goodness. This project is dedicated to the memory of what wine once was, fun and bloody good to drink! Collectively, the guys at Plan B have a genuine love of wine and Bill Crappsley makes superb, single vineyard Frankland River wines that are free of corporate taint. |
