HEATHCOTE
STUD FARM ROAD

Time, energy and passion are the cornerstone of our wonderful products. We take pride and care for all that we produce right from the moment in the vineyard to the bottle and we trust you enjoy every sip as we do.

Mother nature dictates our process and this is evident is the style of the completed wine with no harsh edges or characters, just a polished finish to be enjoyed with family and friends.

Our wine regions are home to many farming pursuits and more recently we have discovered that the ancient Cambrian soil together with the unique climate combine to make an excellent expression of Shiraz.

This wine has been aged in French oak and shows rich ripe and spicy characters along with a soft persistent linger.

KING VALLEY
LT VESPA

Vespa is the Italian word for “wasp”. They can be seen buzzing around the cellar during vintage – they can be a real menance!

The fruit for this wine comes from selected vineyards within the King Valley. Many Italian families migrated here during the 1950s, firstly being tobacco growers and then turning to their roots.

Arleewood Estate

Arlewood: growing grapes and making wine: Pure and Simple

Since 1994 we have been growing grapes in Margaret River, and our family vineyard is driven by our Italian heritage where our great grandfather was capo of the cooperativa winery in his home town in Valtellina, in the far north of Italy.

Today my two sons Jordan and Adrian run the vineyard with much of the work done by our own hands, tending the vines to control vigour and crop load for grapes of intense flavour.

Our flock of Wiltshire sheep are used in the vineyard for grass and weed control and removing the natural habitat of many pests. They are also used for leaf removal and canopy exposure. This means less herbicide, less pesticide, less tractor miles.

Our ever increasing gaggle of geese are being trained to walk the vine rows feeding on snails, weevils, and other vine pests.

The winemaking approach is similar. Hand picked, gentle pressing, minimal filtration. We are soon to try a gravity fed bottling on a trial run of straight Nebbiolo.
