Haan Estate
The Haan vineyards, established in 1996, offer grapes that continually produce wines of high quality, having attracted a 5-star rating from Australia’s foremost wine critic, James Halliday, and producing wines of up to 96 points.
The vineyard is situated 60 metres above sea level and receives about 450 millimetres of rain per annum. The soil is sandy loam with a clay base. These soils have proven to be excellent for producing rich but elegant shiraz and cabernets, varieties that have made the Barossa famous the world over. The vines range in age from 10 to 60 years.
The Haan Estate also grows some exceptional merlot, together with a small amount of malbec, petit verdot and viognier. All of these varieties have benefited from the excellent attention to detail of the Vineyard Manager, Robert Seelander.
