Arlewood Cabernet Merlot 2017


Award Winning Wine 


Margaret River blend of cabernet sauvignon and merlot (plus 14% cabernet franc), matured in all-French oak (10% new). Made by Stuart Pym.

Gently developed and mellow with leather, olive tapenade, bay leaf and blackcurrant flavours ambling amiably through the palate. It drinks easily and well. It has a number of years up its sleeve but is ready to drink anytime  from now.



Bouquet: dried bay leaf and ripe black fruit aromas, high notes of seasoned cedary oak and dark chocolate.
Palate:  layers of blackcurrant and blackberry interwoven with spicy oak. The long, ripe and flavoursome finish is well supported by dry, savoury and well integrated tannins.
Food Pairing: 
Cellaring: delicious now; cellar to 10 years


Varieties: 47% cabernet, 39% merlot and 14% cabernet franc
Fruit Source: Margaret River - Arlewood Estate, Forest Grove Vineyard
Maturation: Fermented and macerated in stainless steel for up to 19 days and then matured in 10% new, 90% two to three year-old French oak barriques for 24 months.
