We've purposely selected Sangiovese for our Rosato in order to make a drier, structured, longer flavoured wine. We believe Sangiovese makes a more enjoyable vibrant style better suited to the heat of the day, balmy evening, laughter, the beach and fishing expeditions. More importantly the colour of this wine tantalises your taste buds for beautiful handmade dishes and the evening gathering.
The growing season produced stunning fruit which made some of our best wines ever. Harvest was early due to a warm spring and a very dry ripening season with no disease pressure producing fruit with extraordinary aromatics and deep flavours when tasted on the vine before harvesting in comparison to previous years.
As the fruit flavours were almost exotic, dominated with an array of cherry and cranberry notes, we decided to be a little adventurous and ferment the wine in old French oak barrels which preserves the fruit but adds a further level of structure and depth to the wine.
