“Deepish red colour with a trace of purple, the bouquet mellow, forward, vanilla-tinged and attractive, with summer berry aromas in the mix. The palate is medium to full-bodied and softly fleshy, supple and with good depth and persistence. Plenty of current drinkability, too. Nice wineL it has penetration and persistence at the same time as impressive elegance.”

“This is very good, but could be better if handpicked with the same devotion applied to the superlative whites. The tannin management, still, is superb. A smooth wave of juicy, currant-clad tannins beam across this savoury wine’s midriff, directing it long across seams of sensitively appointed oak (30% new French; 2 years). Finishes with a souse of bay leaf and thyme.”

“Medium to deep red colour with a tint of purple, the aromas of dusty, toasty-oak and dark fruits, blackberry foremost. The wine is medium-bodied and firm, taunt and sinewy, without a lot of fruit showing. But it is an attractive wine: the palate is complete and balanced and I like its savouriness.” 90/100
